Al-Jebal Middle-Eastern Restaurant

History

Al-Jebal first opened their doors August of 2010 on Third Street in Corvallis, Oregon. Owner, Khalil Abdullah, a former chef in Iraq had a plan to open a restaurant since the age of seven. When Khalil turned eighteen, he was fortunate to open his first restaurant in Bashra, Iraq. His destiny in life didn't end there, the Gulf War brought tragedy to his home land. He was forced to sell his restaurant, the restaurant he loved. In 1997, Khalil, his wife and two children had the opportunity to come to the United States, they did just that, and arrived to Portland, Oregon. In the states, the Abdullah family struggled to get by, but the American Dream was on their mind. Khalil knew that one day he would be able to open his own restaurant and provide his customers the food he put so much passion to create.

Corvallis: Al-Jebal: Corvallis provides the area with the best Middle-Eastern food. On any given day, you'll find the place packed with native and local customers. Manager, Karima Elatchi knows what she's doing, she brought her own twist to the cuisine, a Moroccan flare. The staff are as friendly as they get and provide a service to come back to.
